Shipping Guidelines

Ship packages to “Joe Perkins” not Classic Single Action. If I emailed you a quote after talking on the phone, please include a copy with the shipment. If a quote was not requested, please download and print the Order Form below and include a copy with the shipment. I cannot work on your revolvers or log them into my FFL books if I do not have this information. I have an FFL, so it is legal to send me your firearm/s for gunsmithing or grips. It must be returned to the address I received it from or to an FFL. Again, the “Order Form” must be included with the shipment.

Standard return shipping is $50.00 for 1-2 guns. Add $10 for each additional revolver.

2nd Day Air & Overnight – POR

Do not ship two firearms in one flat clamshell case. These get shipped upright by Fedex and UPS. The guns will shift and will be damaged by hitting eachother.

Work Schedule

I work from 7am to 5pm, 5-6 days a week. Business hours are from 8am to 4pm M-F. All invoices are numerical and done in that order. I don’t put anyone ahead of anyone else for any reason.

Fine custom work takes time to do right. Nothing I do is rushed. My gunsmith work, grip making and silverwork are highly sought after. Everything you see on my web site is created solely by me. I don’t buy any prefabricated pieces or farm out any work.

Turn Around Time For Gunsmith Work

If the services you need are for gunsmith work only, the turn around time is within 45 days.  Please call me to discuss the work and then mail me the firearm/s with the Order Form. There is no waiting list as the turn around time is reasonable. Give me a call and we can discuss what you need done.

Turn Around Time For Grips

I am currently not taking any new orders for grips or adding names to my Grip Waiting List. I am still doing all gunsmith work with a 45 day max turn-around time. I have close to 400 people on the grip list. There is a link on my just below, that shows the hand written list and notes about what numbers I am working on. I am incredibly grateful to all of you for my success over the last 29 years. I must do a “hard reset” to get this part of my business under control. I hope to be through the list by June of 2028. If I am through the list, I will be taking orders for grips with a 1-2 month turn-around time. If you take a look at the list a couple of times a year you will see the pages disappear. The top page is always the one I am working on. Waiting List

What started out as a good idea has become a very time consuming and frustrating endeavor to manage for many reasons. I work 5-6 days a week for 8-10 hours a day. I start at 7am Arizona time. There are three major reasons the list became so long.

1. I had shoulder surgery back in 2016 and was out of work for 2 years. Nerve complications added two more slow years to that. People kept calling for grips and I thought why not start a waiting list. You know the rest of the story because here we are now.

2. My gunsmith work is also highly sought after. Repairing 1st Gen Colts, Premium Action Work and the demand for my ever-popular Ultimate Short Stroke. Three days a week I make grips and two days a week I do gunsmith work.

3. The demand for my work has tripled over the last 6 years. The quality and diversity in what I do seems to be a dying art.

I sincerely thank you for your support over the years and for your understanding of this change I am making. It will benefit all of us in the long run. Hang in there. I love what I do and I feel truly blessed having skills that are so rare and in such demand in today’s word.

Just to be Clear.

** No new orders for grips until I have finished the Waiting List. (About June, 2028)

** Gunsmith work is promised within 45 days.

Some customers that don’t mind shipping me their revolver/s twice will send them in for gunsmith work now. I’ll send them back within 45 days. When your name is up for grips you send them back. Call me if this is an option you want to explore.

My Waiting List is a serious document to me, unlike some companies I have dealt with. No one is ever put ahead, moved back or “forgotten” for any reason.  My close friends as well as first time customers know this to be true. Everyone gets a phone call from me when their number is up. If you have changed your mind by the time I call you, do not feel bad. I just move on down the list.  If you would like to check your position on the list, just click the link to the right. Method of Payment

Personal checks or cashiers checks should be made out to “Joe Perkins”. I have a separtate set of accounts in my name for my business. This means lower monthly banking fees and lower costs to you. Not working with credit cards also saves you money and me headaches. I operate with a legitimate tax ID certificate and pay Arizona State sales taxes. Cash or check, all sales are recorded. I pay sales taxes to the Arizona Department of Revenue every year. Arizona residents pay sales tax on grips and parts.

Please do not ship me firearms or money until we have spoken on the phone.

Include the Order Form.

I will not proceed with work on your revolver/s unless I receive the Order Form in the shipment.
